Welcome to the web site of Nandanik Dance Troupe (NDT).
Nandanik Dance Troupe is a Pittsburgh-based non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization, established in December, 2004. Our goal is to promote Indian dance forms in the US, and preserve, propagate, and exhibit rich Indian culture and heritage through various Indian dance forms.
NDT seeks to promote creation and dissemination of newer dance forms by synthesizing various dance styles of the world. Nandanik Dance Troupe fosters international understanding of diverse cultures through active participation in community activities and events, through creating awareness of Indian culture and supporting its acceptance, and through understanding as well as intermingling of diverse culture and ethnic values. NDT strongly believes in reaching positive values in the community through various dances that build spirit, mind, and body and welcomes every one to enjoy Indian culture and heritage through various Indian dance forms.
Nandanik Dance Troupe relies solely on voluntary contribution of the performers, board members, friends, families, sponsors, and audience for its performances.
It is the result of their total dedication and participation that has led to the success of NDT in its
past productions, including
Chitrangada: In Quest of Truth in 2006,
Shyama - The Royal Courtesan in 2007, and Raja: King of the Dark Chamber in 2008. All three performances received thunderous applause from the audience and were well-received by critics. These performances are choreographed and directed by
Nandini Mandal, an extremely talented guru of various dance forms.
You can support NDT and its mission by simply sponsoring its activities and performances. NDT sponsors gain several benefits; all those benefits can be yours if you become a sponsor.
Being a non-profit organization run purely by volunteers, NDT welcomes volunteers and sponsors to support its mission on spreading the Indian culture via dance forms.
